Fishers is a Central Indiana city north of Indianapolis in Hamilton County.  The population estimate in 2019 was 95,310 residents.  The town was originally incorporated as “Fishers Station” by the Indiana General Assembly in 1891.  Fishers has a total area of 37.68 square miles at an average elevation of 817 feet.  Fishers is approximately 33 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport, and 20 miles from Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis

Fishers has a rich history dating back to 1802 and its original settler, William Connor, whose land is now a well-known operational living history museum called “Connor Prairie”.  Fishers  is home to over a dozen nature parks and conservations including the locally famous attraction, Geist Reservoir, the largest man-made lake in the state and covers 1,900 acres.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools serves approximately 21,760 students in grades PK-12 and spent an average of $8,749 per student in 2020.  All of Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ statewide student assessment scores were above the state average in 2019.  Hamilton Southeastern High School, home of the Royals, has a 97% 4-year graduation rate with 56% of students earning an Honors diploma.  Fishers High School, home of the Tigers, has a 98.2% 4-year graduation rate with 59.8% of students earning an Honors diploma.  Fishers also has several private schools.
