Noblesville is a Central Indiana city north of Indianapolis within Hamilton County. The population estimate in 2019 was 64,668 residents.  Noblesville has a total area of 35.76 square miles at an average elevation of 772 feet.  Noblesville is north of Fishers, east of Westfield, and northeast of Carmel. Noblesville is approximately 40 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport, and 27 miles from Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis

The land that is now known as Noblesville was originally purchased from Native Americans in 1818.  The first trading post in Central Indiana was established there in 1802, by William Connor and his wife Mekinges Connor, a Lenape woman.  They lived in the area’s first log cabin.  William Connor and Josiah Polk laid out Noblesville in 1823.  It was designated the Hamilton County seat in 1824 and later incorporated in 1851.  Noblesville was named after James Noble, one of the first two US Senators from Indiana, though rumor has it that it was actually named after Lavina Noble, to whom co-founder Josiah Polk was engaged.

Noblesville Schools serves approximately 10,519 students in grades PK-12 and spent an average of $8,937 per student in 2020.  All of Noblesville Schools’ statewide student assessment scores were above the state average in 2019.  Noblesville High School, home of the Millers, has a 96.9% 4-year graduation rate with 40.5% of students earning an Honors diploma.  Some residents of Noblesville attend Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
